Lilli Marleen

Lillis place for rants and musing about life, universe and the whole rest. Mostly left, mostly sarcastic, sometimes in german, sometimes in Lilli-english.

As you might see soon, english is not my mothertongue. And since english speaking people are used to others stumble around in their language, I hope I don't make too much of an idiot of myself here. So - my deepest apologies adressed to the English Language for not worshipping her better.

European Song Contest
Let's talk about music instead of it:
Europe (and Israel) takes part in the annual European Song Contest. This year it will be hosted in Istanbul because last year the turkish singer won.
Since Germany used to send the most boring singers most of the last years, there was no good ranking for the german singers. But really - they'd have deserved even worse. They were so bad, even my mom was bored!
This year the whole reglementary has changed and they make the german pre-selection between people who have actually found their place in the charts - what a revolution, send folks with music, people actually like!
But, as usual, no system would be so great that Stefan Raab wouldn't have his fun with it. This time he started a casting in his nightshow and out came some folks who really could sing. So good, every Pop Idol and Popstars singer seems like diet coke compared with coke.
Max, the winner of the contest, came with his single from 0 to 100 today in our German charts. We'll see who will be sent to Istanbul Friday night. The choice is really difficult - I know from Sabrina Setlur, Overground, Patrick Nuo, Mia and I think I forgot the one or the other.
