As you might see soon, english is not my mothertongue. And since english speaking people are used to others stumble around in their language, I hope I don't make too much of an idiot of myself here. So - my deepest apologies adressed to the English Language for not worshipping her better.

Did a Brit MP get money from Iraq?
Yes, we here in germany interprete the right of free speech of the press sometimes a bit harsher than it's done in the UK. Press can state whatever they want as long as they can back up and proove it when asked. In the UK, so it seems here, press can state whatever they want and noone cares if it isn't true. So, I take everything I read from the UK press with an extra grain of salt (in addition to the salt for press in general). The Daily Telegraph reports today from the Labour MP Galloway that he is said to have gotten about 375.000 British Pounds (a bit more than 500.000 EUR - I prefer the civilized currency ;-)). So what is it? A Brit (note: it was a Brit and not a french, a german or a russian) who was on the paylist of Iraq. That follows the question for what he was paid? Or is it just a newspaper trying to damage some lefties? As it's said here, he will sue the newspaper for it. And he gave a statement, which is to read in full here. For not just having one side of it all, we can also see, what the Independent is writing about this. We also have an opinion about this from the Express, the Mirror, The Sun. I won't go digging through german ones, for not to stress your Babelfishes too much. I hope, truth will win. If Galloway is right and all this is a campaign either by the press or by someone who uses the press, it must be asked who wants to damage a man so much, he doesn't hesitate to use such a campaign.
